Five things you need to know about The Unicornfest

With just 160 days until the launch of The Unicornfest, there is a frenzied interest in where our 2 metre high statues and their smaller companions are going to appear.

In this blog post, we hope to answer the top five things that you need to know about Unicornfest right now

1) The Unicornfest will officially start on 3rd July 2023

That's right - we have a start date! All of our large unicorns and our small education foals will officially go on display from 3rd July 2023. You may see some sneak peeks in the run up to the event but the first time you'll see all the statues on public display will be from this date onwards

2) All our artists have been chosen

We started our artist call out in September 2022 and we received over 200 designs from artists - to be quite frank, we've been blown away by the response. We've now shortlisted the artists and given the good and bad news to everybody who has entered. We've had a few artists contact us since the window closed - there may be other ways to get involved with The Unicornfest, but we'll announce these on our website and via social media - keep your eyes peeled

3) Will there be maps for The Unicornfest? Where can we buy them from?

We'll have maps available in a physical format in outlets in Bristol throughout the duration of the trail but we can't give you final details on locations yet. Rest assured, we will make it as easy as possible to get your hands on the full trail map. We'll also make the PDF available on our website for free and it'll be available on our App, developed by Rocketmakers, which will be available on all major App stores for a minor fee - keep checking back for the App launch.

4) Do you have any other events coming up?

We do! From unicorn painting workshops, a Farewell Festival in late September and our fabulous auction event in October plus a few other things along the way. We'll be continually updating our website with upcoming events so you can get involved with what you'd like

5) Who are you raising money for?

We're raising funds for Leukaemia Care - the UKs leading leukaemia charity. They're offering vital information and support services to patients in Bristol and beyond and we're really excited to shine a light on what they do through The Unicornfest.
