Position: Events Intern
Duration: 12 weeks (approx late June - early September)

Salary: National real living wage (on a self-employed basis)
Hours: 16-32 hours per week
Availability: Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM, other days to be agreed
About Unicornfest:
Unicornfest is an exciting unicorn art trail that will take place in Bristol from 1st July until September 3rd. This event aims to celebrate creativity, community engagement, and the vibrant art scene in the city. The trail will feature various unicorn-themed art installations and sculptures displayed throughout Bristol, providing a unique and enchanting experience for residents and visitors alike.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Events Intern to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of the Unicornfest Unicorn Art Trail. This internship opportunity is ideal for individuals currently undertaking an events management degree or those with similar experience who are looking to gain practical event planning and management skills.
As an Events Intern, you will primarily be responsible for working in the Unicornfest shop on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM, serving as a key point of contact for volunteers involved in the art trail. Other hours can be worked throughout the week, assisting on key tasks such as map replenishment and assisting with the organisation of other Unicornfest adjacent events across the City.
You will assist with coordinating volunteer schedules, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations, and representing Unicornfest to visitors and volunteers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist with various aspects of event planning and execution as required.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key contact for volunteers participating in the Unicornfest Unicorn Art Trail.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules, ensuring coverage during operating hours.
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers, answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Represent Unicornfest in a friendly and professional manner to visitors and volunteers.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of the Unicornfest shop, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute various aspects of the art trail.
- Contribute to the promotion and marketing of the Unicornfest Unicorn Art Trail.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry, volunteer communication, and record-keeping.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
- Replenishment of trail maps around the city and other merchandise as required
- Work with members of the team from the charity Leukaemia Care
- Be a point of contact for potential breakages and similar, managing calls from the general public.
- Be a positive ambassador for the trail
Requirements:
- Currently undertaking an events management degree or possess similar experience.
- Passionate about events planning and management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and office software.
- Previous experience in a customer service or volunteer coordination role is advantageous.
Please note that this is a self-employed position, and the successful candidate will be paid the national living wage. The internship will last for 12 weeks, starting in June and ending in September, with the expectation of working between 16 and 32 hours per week. The primary working hours for this role will be Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM, with other hours to be worked during the hours between the hours of 9am until 5pm.
